Dear Parents,

    I am excited and honored to welcome each one of you to the beginning of a new school year at Southside Preparatory Academy Museums Magnet School. Embracing our differences through adventure. This school year will be a year of setting and reaching attainable goals, working harder and smarter and taking our school and student achievement to the next level of “GREATNESS”. I firmly believe that the road to student success starts at the home and is fortified through ongoing communication with teachers and school leaders. As your child’s principal, I am committed to providing a student-centered environment that promotes academic excellence through an enriched, rigorous, inter-disciplinary curriculum. My goal is to ensure that all students become critical thinkers, active problem-solvers, inquisitive readers, diligent researchers, and prolific writers. This will prepare them for the demands of the real-world so they can become productive citizens. Our school proudly offers a BISO (Bilingual School Organization) program which exposes students to instruction in Spanish for 40% of their school day. We are a Museums Magnet School and students are afforded opportunities to make real work connections through learning expeditions (field trips) to our museum partners. We are also a Silver STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering Arts and Math) designated school from Miami-Dade County Public Schools. Our students work on class projects where they understand the correlation between the disciplines associated with STEAM and several times throughout the year, we open our doors to parents so you can experience the magic of STEAM in our school.
